I was inspired by The Backrooms and by CMU’s varied and unpredictable layout, with so many hidden shortcuts, areas, and varied aesthetics that I felt lended itself well to a game. Despite the name, I have never played and am unfamiliar with 5 Nights at Freddy’s; I just thought “5 Nights on Wean 4” sounded funny.

I spent many hours scanning various areas of CMU, particularly those connected to Wean 4, using Polycam.

GCS Creation Showdown

I led this game in GCS in Fall 2024. I was inspired by GCS’s long history featuring so many interested and loved characters, as well as my fondness and reverence for Super Smash Bros., which many regard as the “Hall of Fame” of video game characters. I forked an existing Godot Super Smash Bros. clone.

The game is based on the history of CMU’s Pickleball Club, which I founded. The game features around 50 levels, 10,000+ words, and 600+ AI-generated images. As of Janurary 2026, this is my favorite game that I have developed so far. I feel that it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever made (especially if you know the club’s history), and I am proud that the game seems kind of fun to play. It is also the first game I have published on the iOS app store.

Cops and Robbers

I developed the math theoretic game of Cops and Robbers in Godot as a SURA project under Professor David Offner. I implemented various features, such as variants of the game, a graph creator, some level packs, and an auto-level generator. This is definitely my most technically advanced game I’ve made so far. I intended to remake and expand upon this game in the future…

I wanted to make a really simple yet polished game, and I feel that I really succeeded. I am proud to have also included an online leaderboard for each game mode.

I was inspired by Angry Bunnies: Colossal Carrot Crusade (hence the name). I initially had a very intensive semester lined up, but after dropping 15-213: Intro to Computer Systems, I suddenly had a ton of time to sink into the development of this game.

I learned so much about game development while tinkering with this project. The scope became very large, but I felt that I managed it well with a clear roadmap. For fun, I took screenshots of each level and the text I wrote for each level/cutscene, and I created a book out of it.

Supreme Hen Donkey

This is the first “real” video game I have ever made. I led the development of this game in Spring of 2022 as part of GCS, despite having never even created a game in a proper game engine before. When I pitched the game to the club, I had no strong vision of what the game could be, besides a simpler and faster-paced version of Ultimate Chicken Horse. However, once I came up with the idea that I could incorporate live-aciton elements, everything thematically fell into place.

Sussy Platformer

This was the first game I ever made in a proper game engine. I followed a basic PICO-8 platformer tutorial, but drew my own “suspicious” sprites.

While I no longer have the code for the project, I vividly recall the game crashing for many people. This may have had to do with the read/write quotas, but I’m not totally sure. I definitely didn’t know about error handling in high school, so this theory is plausible.

Java Chess

I created this console-based chess game written during some free time around the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown. I was taking AP Computer Science A at the time, and I felt inspired to create something more impressive. I think that the most impressive part of this project was imitating 3D graphics in 3D mode. However, I will admit that I became unhealthily locked in on this project.

I made for CMU CS Academy’s game contest in high school during freshman year of high school.

The game was a simple overhead swordfighting game, where two players can each move around and perform a simple attack. Because the code runner would only render images and receive input, there was no time. As a result, the game required either holding or spamming a key (I forget which) to increment the time. I recall making the project in one or maybe two class periods in about 300 lines of (repetitive) code.
